Energy
The UNSW Environmental Management Plan contains a range of energy management objectives to be achieved by 2010. These include:
- UNSW aspires to aggressively conserve energy, progressively rely on renewable energy and reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to zero.
- By 2010, meet 7.5% of the University's electrical maximum demand from renewable sources and ensure a further 40% of energy requirements are generated with equipment supplied by natural gas.
FM, in collaboration with the University community, has already successfully implemented a range of energy management measures while working towards these objectives:
