Emergency management approach
UNSW is committed to an emergency management framework that helps us respond to the following priorities in the event of an emergency:
- save lives
- protect property and prevent harm to the environment
- restore essential University infrastructure
- quickly restore academic and administrative functions.
Our emergency management arrangements must be flexible enough to adapt to any type of emergency. They must also allow for sound and timely decision-making in moments of crisis.
Our approach to planning and implementing emergency management is based on four principles:
1. Preparedness
2. Prevention
3. Response
4. Recovery
