Lost property

Lost property found on and off campus is held at FM Assist.

Please hand in any lost items you find to FM Assist, the Library, any gatehouse, or to any Security Officer.

Please help us to return your lost property by writing your name and student number on books, notes, folders and other items.

Reporting lost property

Please report lost property to FM Assist. You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • your name
  • the name of the owner (if different from above)
  • contact address and telephone number
  • description of the item
  • areas on campus where you believe the item may have been lost
  • date that you noticed the item was missing.

Collecting property

Lost property may be collected between 8.00am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will be asked to show proof of identity, and if necessary, ownership of the item.

You may also be asked to sign a receipt to acknowledge you have received your property.

Reporting stolen property

Report all theft to Security immediately on 9385 6000 or 1800 626 003. You can call these numbers 24 hours a day.

Be aware of those around you and do not leave belongings unattended.

Unclaimed property

Property that remains unclaimed by August of each year is given to the U-Committee. Each year the U-Committee runs the lost property sale, as well as the UNSW Book Fair.

Money earned is used to fund worthy causes. Past causes have included the Scientia, Optometry Clinic and Museum of Human Disease.
