FM OHS Committee - Roles and goals
- Review measures taken to make the workplace healthy and safe.
- Investigate any situation a member or an employee thinks is unsafe and bring it to the attention of the employer.
- Resolve any health and safety problems.
- Help develop a system to record accidents and hazardous situations in the workplace.
- Help develop a safe working environment and safe systems of work.
- Help develop a health and safety policy for the workplace.
- Monitor procedures for ensuring the proper use and proper maintenance of protective equipment.
- Monitor procedures ensuring the replacement of protective equipment when this is needed.
- Make recommendations on ways to protect the health and safety of people at the workplace to the employer.
- Ensure optimum dissemination of Committee deliberations to Facilities staff.
