FM OHS Committee - Roles and goals

  • Review measures taken to make the workplace healthy and safe.
  • Investigate any situation a member or an employee thinks is unsafe and bring it to the attention of the employer.
  • Resolve any health and safety problems.
  • Help develop a system to record accidents and hazardous situations in the workplace.
  • Help develop a safe working environment and safe systems of work.
  • Help develop a health and safety policy for the workplace.
  • Monitor procedures for ensuring the proper use and proper maintenance of protective equipment.
  • Monitor procedures ensuring the replacement of protective equipment when this is needed.
  • Make recommendations on ways to protect the health and safety of people at the workplace to the employer.
  • Ensure optimum dissemination of Committee deliberations to Facilities staff.
