UNSW Facilities Management

Towards Zero Waste

This program develops and implements waste management strategies and services in order to:

  • minimise waste
  • maximise resource recovery
  • reduce waste service costs
  • reduce greenhouse impacts
  • conserve resources.

It includes the University’s Composting Facility, where waste from UNSW retail food outlets and student housing is processed into compost for use on UNSW grounds.

More information about how we manage waste at UNSW can be found in the Resource Recovery and Waste Handbook.
